Wolverhampton AmDram Group Seeks Actor To Play Local Legend...

9th January 2023, 10:42 PM

Due to unforeseen circumstances, our leading actor has had to withdraw from Wolverhampton based Studio 61's spring production of Nigel Slater's Toast by Henry Filloux-Bennett. We are, therefore, on the search for a talented actor to step into the role of Wolverhampton's own Nigel Slater. Although portrayed by an adult actor,

Nigel guides the audience through his childhood between the ages of 8 and 18 - wherein he examines his relationships with his mother, father and step-mother as well as his undying love of food. It is a very challenging role that requires the actor to be on stage for the entire performance with a large number of lines.

We are looking for a male actor between the ages of 20 and 35(ish). Due to the size and complexity of the role, we will hold auditions for all applicants before the role is offered.

Performances are on Tuesday 28th - Thursday 30th March at Newhampton Arts Centre, Dunkley Street, WV1 4AN. A mandatory technical rehearsal will be held at the same venue on Monday 27th March. Rehearsals will take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm - 9:30pm at Bradmore Arms, Trysull Road, WV3 7HX.

If you are interested or know of somebody who may be interested, please get in touch with us prior to Friday 20th January. Please email the director Richard Corser on richardcorser@btinternet.com, or get in touch with us via any of our social media pages.
