Welcome to the website of Studio 61, a passionate amateur theatre company based in Wolverhampton.

Rehearsals are on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at The Bradmore Social Club, 60 Church Road, WV3 7ER. Let us know if you're interested in coming along - you'll be most welcome!

We perform at Wolverhampton Arts Centre and usually produce plays in March, June and November each year.

Join us for a fun evening of readings, sketches and music (+Irish Bingo!), all in the cause of raising money to support Action for M.E.

There is a large car park at the rear of the building, access is step-free and you can pay by card at the bar but please arm yourselves with cash to help support Action for M.E.

Set during the First World War, The Accrington Pals tells the story not only of the men who marched to war, but of the women left behind to navigate a world transformed by conflict.

In the Lancashire mill town of Accrington, mothers, wives, sisters, and sweethearts confront uncertainty, grief, shifting expectations, and the demands of survival. As the war reshapes daily life, the women forge friendships, challenge social conventions, and discover new strength and independence amid loss and upheaval.

Peter Whelan’s moving drama explores the emotional realities of the home front, revealing the resilience, humour, and humanity of those whose lives were irrevocably altered by war.

Rich in warmth, heartbreak, and sharply observed relationships, The Accrington Pals shines a light on the often-overlooked experiences of women during wartime, and the enduring impact of conflict on love, family, and community.
