Summer Production - The Realistic Joneses (12 February 2022)

Summer Production - The Realistic Joneses

12th February 2022, 12:00 PM

Our summer production will now be The Realistic Joneses, a play first performed in 2014, written by Will Eno. The play is set in present day, semi-rural America and concerns two middle-aged couples, one resident and one newly-arrived, who get to know each other through a series of informal social meetings. As their relationships begin to intertwine they discuss their hopes and fears in a tapestry of intriguing and often humorous exchanges.

Kevin Porter is directing the piece, with Jane Fosbrook as an assistant director. The Realistic Joneses is an ensemble piece for four actors providing opportunities and challenges for physical characterisation and an exploration of meaning in the subtleties of oblique language. We look forward to working with an enthusiastic cast in this exciting venture.

Performances will be on Tuesday 28th - Thursday 30th June at Newhampton Arts Centre with a full technical rehearsal to take place at the venue on Monday 27th June. We will be holding play readings on Monday 14th, Wednesday 16th and Monday 21st February, all 7:30p.m., at Bradmore Arms. I intend to announce a cast via e-mail on Tuesday 22nd February and to hold a production meeting on Wednesday 23rd February. Rehearsals will commence on Monday 28th February.
